fabric headboard

I have been wanting to buy a bed frame or headboard for as long as we have had our bed, which is almost 3 years! But they are so expensive and it is the last thing on the list to buy, so I decided to make one myself. I watched some how-to videos online and read up on every one's different versions of DIY headboards and then made it. The whole thing cost probably around $80.00. We love it so much and it was so fun to make. I took pictures of the whole step by step process so I will post how I did later! Now I'm helping my cousin's make some for their beds!!! It really is easy and so fun!

DIY headboard

My school is on Spring Break starting tomorrow so I am tackling this project this week. I am so excited. I already have the plywood, batting and cutest tan/white hounds tooth fabric. Now I am just debating which way I should do the nail head trim. Any suggestions? I would rather use the trim where the nail heads are attached because it would be way easier, but it may not look as good. But then again-I just don't think I am in the mood to nail 250+ nail heads into wood tomorrow individually. Anyone ever work with nail head trim before? I need input!
