Waipio Valley

We had another fun day off. We went to Waipio Valley and did this ridiculously hard hike. Seriously I was scaling boulders. I would have pictures of this all, but lets just say the camera would have gotten a little wet.

I didn't realize what an intense hike this would be. I was wearing my swimsuit and a dress and Ryan was wearing flip flops. We get out to start to hike and the people we are with are like "um....you might want to leave your dress in the car. Because there are parts of the hike when you get completely wet and you have to swim across a river"!

So I took off my dress and put the camera back in the car. We put on tons of bug spray and we hiked through the jungle with me in a swimsuit and Ryan in flip flops! It was a long long adventure-but totally worth it! I was sore for days afterwards, but ya know- you only live in Hawaii once!

So this is Waipio Valley. First we swam in the beautiful black sand beach and then we hiked all the way back to the farthest point of this valley. So far back that you can't even see it. It was really cool. Normally their are huge 14,000 feet waterfalls falling but not during this season. But we still swam in the water they fall into. It was an adventure for sure!
